Concept note
An intensive concept note sets out the thermal battery for heavy industry.
In under two years we've gone from a concept note to a lab-validated prototype at TRL 4. Along the way: a university feasibility study, Africa's leading enterprise development programmes, and appointments on the global climate stage.

Founder & Thermal Energy Specialist
A Thermal Energy Specialist building the battery Africa's heavy industry needs.
Nthabiseng's work spans thermal energy storage research and development, carbon tax compliance and ESG. She has been appointed Expert Reviewer for United Nations IPCC methodology reports, and leads Shabbos Shalom's mission to turn industry's wasted heat into cleaner air for the communities that live beside it.

First prototype built, reaching technology readiness level 2.
Appointed expert reviewer for the IPCC on Sustainable Cities, and UN carbon capture taxation certification.
Invited back as Expert Reviewer for an IPCC methodology report (short-lived climate pollutants).
Joined United People Global's Biashara programme to strengthen entrepreneurial capability.
Prototype refined, with recorded readings, advancing to TRL 3.
Entered the CSIR mentorship programme to refine the technology.
Graduated with distinction, with the Valedictorian and Best Pitch awards.
Awarded a business training mission to the Netherlands.
Lab-validated prototype, refined with CSIR mentorship, preparing for a site pilot.
Enterprise development programmes have helped us grow from an idea into a business, and sharpened both our innovation and our entrepreneurship.
Shabbos Shalom has been awarded a business training mission to the Netherlands. The trip is still ahead of us: a chance to learn from Dutch industry and build partnerships for our next stage.

We received the award at the Orange Corners South Africa 2025 programme, an initiative of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The journey of about 9 000 km from Johannesburg to Amsterdam is still to come.
We are building the partnerships that take our thermal battery from the lab to the plant.
